The BCECE entrance exam is carried out in two stages, which is Stage 1 and Stage 2. Candidates need to clear the stage 1 exam to sit for stage 2 exam and the candidate has to pass both the exams so as to appear in the admission procedure. Through this examination, candidates may get the admission to the first year UG courses in the field of engineering, pharmacy and agriculture offered by the colleges located in Bihar state.

How to apply?

The application for the BCECE 2017 will begin in the first week of February and will end in the last week of February 2017. Payment for BCECE 2017examination fee can be through challan, net banking, credit or debit card. The date for examination for both the stages; stage 1 and stage 2 will be in the third week of April. The application form will be available online and can be filled through the official website of the board.

There are two parts in the application form; Part A and Part B. Candidates have to fill part A first and then can only they fill the application form. After paying the application fee, they will be able to fill the part B.

After filling both parts in the application form, the candidate will have to send the hard copy of the online submitted application form (Part-A & Part-B) along with paid Bank Challan & enclosures to the BCECE office address given below:

Rs 660/- is the application fee for the general category students and Rs. 333/- is the application fee for SC/ST candidates. The candidates who want to sit for all subjects i.e. PCMB are required to pay Rs 730/- for general category students, against the application form. For SC/ST category candidates, the application fee will be Rs 365/-. The candidates can make the payment using credit card/debit card or bank challan.

Are you Eligible?

For applying for BCECE examination 2017, the candidates have to satisfy the eligibility criteria. The eligibility condition of BCECE 2017 is given below:

  • The candidate must be the citizen of India and must be permanently residing in the state of Bihar
  • According to 31st December 2017 the candidate must have attained the age of 17 years, in order to apply for any course other than engineering course.
  • For engineering course, there is no minimum age limit prescribed.
  • The candidate must have completed 12th as the qualifying examination from the recognized University with minimum 45% marks (for GEN category) and 40% marks (for SC/ST category) secured in the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology subjects.

Paper Pattern

The BCECE exam 2017 is an objective type paper. For every right answer the candidate secures 4 marks and for every wrong answer, the candidate loses 1 mark. The candidate has an option to choose from mathematics and biology whereas there is no option for physics and chemistry.

For Stage 1 exam, the time limit to attempt the question paper is 2 hours 15 minutes for 150 questions. Each subject has 50 questions and the maximum the candidate can score in each section is 200 marks, hence the total marks a candidate can secure in Stage 1 exam is 600 marks.

The Stage 2 paper is only for 30 minutes for 300 questions. Each subject has 100 questions and maximum marks that can be secured in a subject are 400 marks. Hence Stage 2 paper is for 1200 marks maximum. The syllabus for both the Stages is based on the syllabus of Intermediate i.e. I.Sc/+2/equivalent.

Counselling

Candidates, who clear the BCECE 2017 entrance test with the cut-off marks, will be eligible to appear in the counselings procedure organised by the board for the allotment of seats. To appear in the BCECE 2017 counselling, the candidates have to register themselves so that he/she will be eligible for filling the option for the college and branch.

The seat allotment depends upon various factors that include candidate’s rank in the entrance examination, seat availability in the preferred college and the choices exercised by the candidates.
